We are seeking a motivated, experienced aquatics leader to take our growing aquatics department to the next level. Our aquatics center includes an outdoor (domed for year-round swimming) 8 lane, 25 yard pool with an additional shallow end that is separated by a bulkhead plus outdoor splashpad. Programming includes year-round recreational swim teams, swim lessons, safety around water programs, water fitness and practice facility for several high school swim and water polo teams. The Senior Program Director will organize and implement high quality programs while managing and ensuring pool safety, cleanliness and training standards. This position will play a pivotal role in leading and influencing aquatic programming and training across our 11 branch association. Preferred candidate must be a proven leader who is results driven, organized with attention to detail and can successfully multi-task in a demanding environment.
- Responsible for the management of the aquatic operations and programming in accordance with association standards and best practices.
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise a professional team of qualified aquatic staff.
- Ensures that all staff have and maintain proper certifications.
- Ensures the pool is safe, clean and well-maintained.
- Maintains accurate records and reports to comply with association policies.
- Develops and directs high quality programs that support branch and association mission and goals.
- Develops and successfully achieves annual department budget objectives.
- Supports our philanthropic efforts and meet and/or exceed annual campaign goal.
- Provides leadership to association aquatics programming and training.
- Serves as a member of branch management team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Five or more years experience in aquatic management and training or equivalent experience
- Possess YMCA Lifeguard Trainer certification and YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor Trainer certification or equivalent
- Ability to manage operations including supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, volunteer development, and program development
- Strong management and communication skills. Ability to effectively plan, multi-task and problem solve
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to establish collaborations and partnerships with community organizations
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred
Salary Range: $40,000-$47,500
