Responsible for day to day operations of the branch.  Supervises the leadership team and all of the part-time employees at the center. Coordinates center departments with member services to provide excellent member experience and member retention through high quality services, promotions, marketing activities. Expected to develop, plan and implement procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals. Participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the branch and programs
  • Provide leadership to all staff.
  • Supervise all aspects of the branch and programs including directors, coordinators and staff.
  • Responsible for the development & evaluation of staff.
  • Responsible leading and meeting goals as it relates to the annual campaign
  • Implements membership strategies that promote branch growth of new members and retention of existing members.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations as requested.
  • Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensure the maintenance of facilities and equipment of the branch to assure high standards of maintenance, safety, cleanliness and to assure that the requirements of regulatory codes are fully met.
  • Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Responsible to provide leadership to the branch board.
  • Responsible to provide direct leadership and supervision to both the membership, aquatics, and wellness departments.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts.
  • Provide direct supervision and oversight to assigned association programs
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in human services, marketing, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Previous management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency. 
  • Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development. 
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Organizational Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00
