Teach For America seeks a Manager, Matriculation to lead our work in building our incoming corps through confirming, retaining and onboarding our new corps members each year. You must be passionate about our city, our organization, our mission and our values; get energy from helping others imagine themselves in our movement here in Memphis; and find joy in helping others navigate the requirements and learning of their onboarding into this work. You will be responsible for stewarding our incoming corps members through their onboarding, ensuring they are ready to meet all state, district and organization requirements, allowing them to be hired by our district and school partners as soon as possible. The Manager, Matriculation will also provide key operations planning and execution for our role as a state licensing body, including but not limited to, Praxis strategy, data tracking, and leading our principal-relationship-building strategy.
You will lead other members of the Program team to ensure our confirmation campaign of incoming corps members is centered on deeply knowing our new teachers, helping them imagine themselves in our local movement, and flawlessly executing our communication and management of the incoming corps. Because of your leadership, our incoming corps members feel valued and welcomed into this movement, and prepared and ready to begin institute through their engagement in onboarding process.
You will report to the Managing Director, Participant Operations.
Lead Our Efforts to Confirm, Retain and Onboard Incoming Corps Members (65%)
- Plan and execute an inspiring and motivating matriculation campaign that helps incoming corps members imagine themselves in Memphis in our local movement, retains them until institute, invests them in our regional vision and learning theory, and ensures they’re taking all steps needed to be ready for day one of institute
- Train, support and laterally manage our matriculation team, made up of regional staff members, corps members and local alumni, all working in support of our incoming corps member matriculation campaign
- Identify key trends and adjust strategies between each confirmation window to ensure we’re matriculating the maximum number of new teachers to Memphis
- Laterally manage other program team members to help ensure incoming corps members’ transition to the corps is smooth, welcoming and builds their understanding of our local context and their charge as teacher leaders
- Manage our corps member onboarding process, including laterally managing fellow staff to create and execute training experiences, directly creating and holding training webinars, and creating and managing all information and communications shared with corps members from the moment they accept their offer until the first day of institute
- Address incoming corps member questions and concerns related to joining the corps, onboarding and preparing for institute by managing the Memphis incoming corps member inbox and through individual communication with our new teachers
- Track all confirmation and onboarding progress in our regional trackers, including their progress to goal on action items, their unique circumstances, and any other information we need to know to manage them through their onboarding process
- Work collaboratively with the MD, Participant Operations to ensure incoming corps members have the information and support needed to be prepared for the placement process
Support the Licensure & Partnership Work of the Participant Operations Team (35%)
- Manage incoming and current corps members to understand and meet their respective licensure requirements in compliance with our state and district’s guidelines and timelines
- Drive projects and support initiatives related to credentialing and onboarding new corps members
- Lead our work to strengthen partnerships with principals in our partner schools, including coordinating principal relationship-building by the program team, tracking progress ongoing and via execution of an annual principal survey, and developing additional strategies to improve principal satisfaction
You will also be responsible for supporting the ongoing work of the region through supporting regional initiatives as needed.

Demonstrated Experience
- A track record of getting results while managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously

- A history of operating in the spirit of our commitment to diversity, and a strong understanding of the dynamics of race and class in America
- 3-5 years of professional experience; experience as a corps member highly preferred
