The Helpline and Program Manager is directly responsible for the oversight of the Helpline which is a service provided to families, individuals, and professionals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.  This position will also provide technical and administrative support to the Programs Department.  The Helpline and Program Manager reports to the Director of Programs.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversees Helpline operations including: checking the daily Contact Center report
  • Contacts callers and provides information about Association services, schedules consultations and/or provides materials as requested.
  • Documents call information in Personify.
  • Responds to e-mails from constituents with service requests from the website.
  • Maintains community resource lists, calendars and other relevant information in the database(s) for internal and National Contact Center use.
  • Assists with Programs and Services data entry. 
  • Assists and supports Association programs and events as needed.
  • Provides administrative and technical support to the Programs Department.
  • Assists with the orientation, training, scheduling, evaluation, and recognition of Programs and Services volunteers. 
  • Matches volunteers with Program needs and opportunities as requested.
  • Provides assistance to the Program Director as needed (reporting on activities for grants and reports). The individual also supports activities that promote the services of the chapter.  
  • Assists with marketing and scheduling Program events
  • Assists and supports Association programs and events as needed
  • Assists with processing registrations (including adding constituents to Personify)
  • Represents the Chapter as appropriate at assigned meetings. 
  • All other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree preferred (may be substituted with relevant experience)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 2 years in health/human services related field.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s and related dementias, and/or aging and health issues 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to mentor
  • Proficient in Windows and other software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Personify and Google Apps
  • Solid work ethic, attention to detail, and strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • High level of integrity, diplomacy, and initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Absolute commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • NYS driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
