Timely and accurate internal financial reporting will be the primary goal of the senior accountant as well as overall responsibility of the general ledger accounting system for the GREATER MARCO FAMILY YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  1. Responsible for the month end close process
  2. Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  3. Prepares income statement analysis along with recurring and adjusting journal entries
  4. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts
  5. Responsible for Accounts Payable from entry to check printing
  6. Responsible for processing payroll and human resource requirements
  7. Coordinate the budget process
  8. Assist in developing and implementing internal controls
  9. Review and Monitor Monthly Membership Drafts
  10. Process Cash Receipts and make Deposits
  11. Assist with special projects as they arise
Skills/Experience: 

A Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent

Three or more years of experience in accounting and general ledger experience

Excellent personal computer skills and experience in all Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel

Previous experience with voluntary/ nonprofit organization preferred
