The Sr. Director of Youth Development is a key leader of our Camp and Teen staff teams responsible for the planning, oversight, and execution of Teen and Camp Programs year round. Areas of Responsibility:
- Development, oversight and execution of Teen and Camp Youth Development Programs ensuring top quality programming in a safe environment.
- Supervise and support leadership staff in providing training to achieve high quality programming across program areas.
- Coordinate marketing and communication strategies to build increased outreach to returning and prospective camp families.
- Personally build relationships with YMCA members, program participants, family members, community stakeholders, vendors and donors to ensure strong connections with the community at large.
- Conduct community outreach to build strong philanthropic collaborations with targeted audiences to gain additional funding support for camp program and teen programs.
- Collaborate with department directors to create and implement specialty camp opportunities throughout the school year during vacation weeks.
- Supervise and coordinate the care and maintenance of Children’s Island including the opening and closing of the property, maintenance staff, projects calendar & service logbook as it relates to equipment and structural assets on the island. Function as liaison between Island and LVO maintenance staff for all repair projects as needed.
- Collaboration with YMCA departments and local community partners to develop and manage shoulder season programming opportunities on Children's Island.
- Supervise and support Teen Director in the development, planning and facilitation of teen programs including curriculum development and format of Job Readiness & Career Exploration workshops, Teen Leaders Club, Community Service learning opportunities and Teen Jobs Fair for Marblehead and Swampscott high schools.
- Provide organizational support to Teen Director to plan and market annual Service Learning Trips and support Teen Leaders Club participation and fundraising efforts for these trips.
Skills/Experience:
- Must have at least 2 years related experience including; strong program administration skills including budget development and management, fundraising, program and curriculum development and evaluation, scheduling and logistics.
- Must have at least 4 years of experience delivering a variety of youth/teen based programs.
- Must have a BA/BS, equivalent schooling or the necessary work related experience.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to obtain 7d license for van transportation of program members.
- Although this position largely takes place Monday through Friday the candidate must be willing to be flexible with schedule including nights and weekends as needed.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00
