The YMCA of Downtown Manchester, a Branch of The Granite YMCA is currently seeking an energetic, hard-working, individual to supervise the day to day operations of our Aquatics Department. Under the guidance of the Associate Branch Director, the Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of aquatic operation.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Direct supervision of aquatic staff (swim instructors and lifeguards) including scheduling, approving time cards, staff communication, staff development, evaluating staff, staff training and staff preparedness during an aquatic emergency
  • Facilitate, implement, track and evaluate all aquatic programs offered
  • Assist in the development of the budget as well as coordinate billing and invoices for contracted swimming programs
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of aquatic safety equipment and aquatic facilities
  • Support Facilities Director in pool chemical balancing, cleaning needs, and annual shutdown
  • Responsible for an average of 20 – 30 direct program hours teaching aquatic programming including being available to teach and/or guard as a sub when necessary
  • Participate in Y staff meetings as a member of the branch program management team, Association Aquatics Meetings, Department Meetings, and other meetings as determined by the Associate Branch Director
Skills/Experience: 
  • YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certified;
  • YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certified;
  • 2+ years Water Exercise Instructor experience, 2-3 years of experience supervising a staff team and managing aquatics programs, 2+ years of experience managing YMCA or ARC swim lesson program, knowledge of pool management and safety issues, Certified Pool Operator

Required Certifications

  • Required Certifications: YMCA or ARC Lifeguard, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Emergency Oxygen Administration, First Aid.
  • This candidate should possess a background in program, lifeguarding, and supervision.
Compensation/Benefits: 

$32,000.00 - $42,000.00
