Through working with a coalition of partners, we have demonstrated that protecting the natural heritage of Wisconsin is fundamental to the health, economy and prosperity of our great state. We are seeking a talented individual to serve as Development Projects Coordinator who will support our philanthropy team with producing written materials for major donor audiences, assisting in planning special events, advance special projects related to The Nature Conservancy’s current major fundraising campaign and provide general administrative support.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Development Projects Coordinator will be an integral part of the Wisconsin Chapter’s inclusive, donor-centered philanthropy program, performing select duties to ensure major donor experiences are personalized and meaningful. He/she will be an excellent communicator and a responsive, driven teammate, responsible for drafting written communications for donor audiences, researching prospective donors, planning special events and field trips and assisting as needed across the development team. He/she coordinates across departments to ensure accurate messaging and coordinated strategies. He/she will be required to use the Conservancy’s donor database for donor/constituent management.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Serve as a team member for assigned projects.
  • May have supervisory responsibility for volunteers, interns, or temporary staff.
  • Financial responsibility may include working within a budget, purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors, and assisting with budget tracking.
  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
  • Work overtime as needed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience working independently; manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience in general program support such as event planning, meeting preparation, data tracking or related experience.
  • Experience working and communicating with a diverse range of people.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Valid Driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports, coordinating efforts and solving problems.
  • Multi-lingual; multi-cultural, cross cultural experience or background an asset
  • Demonstrated success writing and editing written materials for use with donors and special events.
  • Database skills, including managing data and tracking donor prospects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
