The Hogan Family YMCA is seeking a new Youth and Family Services Program Director.
The Youth and Family Services Program Director reports directly to the Branch Executive Director. This individual is responsible for hiring, training and supervising all staff that is a part of the After School program, Summer Day Camp, Holiday Camps, Kids Night Out and monthly Family Fun Nights. They are also responsible for establishing new program activities and expanding programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Communicate and promote the YMCA mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers and the community at large.
- Direct and supervise program activities for Afterschool, Summer Day Camp, Kids Night Out and monthly Family Fun Nights, to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the mission of the YMCA.
- Establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Communicate with the members and program participants on a regular basis to ensure program quality.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Organize and schedule program registrations.
- Meet all program enrollment goals including timely collection process of all fees.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies.
- Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Organize special events for parents.
- Develop annual budget and monitor department budget monthly or even more often as needed to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assure compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
- Ensure that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
- Provide for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensure thephysical environment supports healthy living.
- Assist in YMCA fundraising activities.
- Provide staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and committees as assigned.
- Maintain proper records/department files.
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Compileprogram statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the District Executive Director.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Willingness to carry out the mission of the YMCA and its programs.
- Ability to research, analyze and solve problems.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain all personal certifications needed to serve in this position.
- Ability to interpret, as well as, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and utilize initiative.
- Ability to be organized and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Work to continue personal competency through education, outside literature, seminars, etc.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supervisory/management position.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment with team members focusing on creating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate activities.
- Personal commitment to customer service including following up with parents and guardians to provide program-specific information.
- CPR and AED certifications.

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00
