As the Branch Director you are a critical component to assisting individuals with behavior change as they engage in a healthier lifestyle. Through passion, engagement, encouragement, coaching and meaningful connections, you create the cornerstone to their success. Successful performance in this role would see an increase in membership, member engagement and deeper relationships, members achieving well-being goals, and demonstrating behaviors of a healthy, thriving lifestyle.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to lead a team of Wellness, Membership and Kids’ Club professionals, and possess leadership skills necessary to successfully communicate and engage with co-workers, members, associates, volunteers, donors and the general public. Preferred candidate should have a proven track record in staff development, budget accountability, program and membership development, community involvement, member-centered customer service and fundraising. The Director takes an active leadership role in the branch’s Annual Giving Campaign, including donor and volunteer cultivation.

- Serves as a role model and advocate of the YMCA Mission, Promise, Values, and Voice.
- Coordinates the development of the Northeast/Middletown YMCA Branch Board and committees.
- Directs the volunteer activities of the branch.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in the service delivery area.
- Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
- Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
- Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
- Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
- Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
- Effectively connects programming in support of the YMCA of Greater Louisville’s Strategic Vision.
- Nurtures and strengthens our collaborative partnership with the City of Middletown.

- Membership development 1,600 members from 600 households
- Staff development 30 part time
- Annual Campaign $25k
- Facility management 11,000 square feet storefront facility
- Four or more years of YMCA management experience
- Fund raising experience and a thorough understanding of running an Annual Giving campaign
- Previous budget responsibility of at least $500k
- Membership development experience with at least 500 households
- Experience in development of volunteers; ability to recruit top community leaders
- Experience and knowledge in facility management
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification
- Gulick/Activate America experience preferred
