Senior Campaign Manager, Light The Night

This is a full-time fundraising position focused on two Light The Night Walks in the Greater Los Angeles area. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling and executing a large scale and long-term fundraising and stewardship strategy to achieve and exceed revenue goals in support of LLS’ mission. This position will be responsible for generating $500,000 to $1 million of yearly revenue through the Light The Night Walk program within a team of fundraising professionals.

This is not a marketing and/or event planning/management position. The primary focus is fundraising, stewarding donors, securing sponsorship, and achieving fundraising benchmarks. A track record of four or more years of successful fundraising and/or sales experience is a requirement for consideration for this position and familiarity with Walk fundraising is beneficial.

This is a full-time position supporting various fundraising efforts in the Greater Los Angeles area. Position requires the ability to frequently travel locally and to the Los Angeles office. Virtual work is not available for this position.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee all aspects of both California Southland Chapter Light The Night Walks while developing positive volunteer interactions through recruitment, mentoring, and providing comprehensive support for volunteer leadership and participants to develop and achieve personal fundraising plans, while focusing on the mission of LLS.
  • Implement organizational best practices with regard to recruiting and managing high level volunteers for Executive Board opportunities, revenue generation activities, expense and fiscal controls, marketing/promotions, and logistics resulting in chapter revenue growth and achievement of revenue goals.
  • Provide input into the development of a strategic plan for the fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising goals, budget recommendations, vendors, volunteer goals, and timelines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the on-going fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising efficiency (cost/expense), community engagement, event satisfaction, and overall success of the campaign.
  • Ensure revenue goals are met by identifying, recruiting, managing, and stewarding volunteer committees and event participants.
  • Identify and network with corporations, community groups, schools, and key donors to engage them in Light The Night participation.
  • Manage and act as a resource to Campaign Manager(s) relating to their specific Walk-fundraising campaigns and efforts, as well as provide input for hiring, promotion, performance, and termination of those supervised, if applicable.
  • Act as an on-site manager during the campaign fundraising event, overseeing activities, staff, vendors, and volunteers to ensure satisfaction of participants, and resolutions of problems.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS's mission and programs to promote the Society's fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 4 years fundraising or sales experience
  • Familiarity with non-profit fundraising techniques, strategies, and implementation. Non-profit walk fundraising experience a plus

  • May be required to move materials weighing up to 25 pounds for various events
  • Travel within the Chapter's designated area
  • Required to work evenings and/or weekends

  • Increase Awareness: Raise LLS brand awareness and engagement to drive revenue & establish LLS as the leading cancer organization driving cures & access.
  • Improve Net Profitability: Maximize net income from existing channels through prioritization, organizational alignment and optimization of resources.
  • Diversify Revenue: Identify and develop high-growth, high-margin revenue opportunities focusing on volunteer initiatives, eRevenue, donor development and new partner development.
  • Enhance Organizational Performance: Assess resources, improve productivity and optimize organizational capacity.
