Manager - Events and Programming

We are looking for a Manager, Events and Programming to set vision and design content for events across our program continuum in partnership with our functional teams. In this role, you will create experiences for incoming and current corps members, alumni, and other constituents that drive toward our regional vision and culture aspirations. These experiences include but are not limited to professional development days, incoming corps member induction, community-based leadership opportunities, and alumni networking events.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about adult learning and have experience in event planning and execution. This role reports to the Managing Director, Experience Design.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Event Planning (85%)

  • Partner with leaders on the Experience Design, Corps Member & Alumni Impact, and Development teams to set vision for events and programming for incoming and current corps members, alumni, and community members
  • Design event content around goals for adult learning, community engagement, and network participation
  • Execute events with the support of the Experience Design team and other regional team members
  • Use corps member retention and satisfaction data to inform planning and strategy, and maintain high expectations for your and your team’s results in the area of corps member satisfaction

Regional Responsibilities (15%)

  • Participate in region- and organization-wide initiatives and events such as corps member selection, staff learning and development days, new corps member confirmation, and other events
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience creating professional development or adult learning experiences required
  • Experience working in schools required
  • Los Angeles experience preferred

  • Logistics orientation and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with and motivate others across functional teams
  • Eagerness to collect feedback and apply what you learn to your work

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel to event locations around the Los Angeles region
  • Some weekend and evening work required
