Manager - Donor Engagement

We are looking for a Manager, Donor Engagement to oversee the operations of donor events and communication on the Los Angeles regional team. You will be a vital contributor to our region’s ability to raise more than $9 million annually over the next several years, ensuring a consistent and inspiring experience for the funders who make it possible for our team to bring in and support the next generation of leaders working toward educational equity in Los Angeles. You will be charged with planning and executing donor engagement opportunities alongside your colleagues on the Development Team, overseeing the execution of donor-facing events, managing mass donor communications, and supporting individualized engagement and stewardship plans.

The ideal candidate has a background in nonprofit development, including portfolio management and/or donor engagement, and is passionate about producing high-quality, high-impact events. This role reports to the Managing Director, Development. Please submit a cover letter with your application.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Event Planning (50%)

  • Work in partnership with Development teammates to determine the vision for donor engagement events
  • Oversee the logistical planning and execution of all donor engagement events
  • Maintain strong ongoing relationships with colleagues on other functional teams, pulling them in as needed to participate in events or facilitate connections to corps members and alumni
  • Maintain accurate data tracking to make informed decisions about event strategy and develop long-term stewardship plans to convert event attendees to annual supporters

Donor Engagement & Communication (40%)

  • Create a plan for regular donor communication, and develop and send mass communications
  • Support portfolio managers in crafting and executing stewardship and engagement plans for specific donors

Regional Responsibilities (10%)

  • Participate in region- and organization-wide initiatives and events such as corps member selection, staff learning and development days, new corps member confirmation, and other events
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience with constituent management required 
  • Event planning experience required
  • Project management experience, particularly working across functional teams, preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit management or fundraising preferred
  • Experience in Salesforce CRM and mass email communications preferred
