As the Director, Strategic Data Consultation & Support, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how data is used across the organization to train and support corps members and alumni. Working in partnership with your teammates on the Org-Wide Learning and Strategy team, you will directly influence what we measure, how we measure it and how it is used across the organization.  This position is a unique opportunity for an individual who thrives on using and coaching others to use data to drive organizational learning, who demonstrates strong quantitative analysis skills, and who desires to learn additional data collection and analysis skills over time. The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships and partnering with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and have an orientation towards further developing their leadership and coaching skills. The Director of Strategic Data Consultation & Support will report directly to the Managing Director, Strategic Data Consultation & Support.

Areas of Responsibility: 

(50%) Analyze survey data, student achievement test data, and other data to drive organizational learning.

  • Apply rigorous statistical analysis techniques (e.g. regression analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis) to survey and other data to answer key organizational questions and identify opportunities for learning and development.
  • Help in developing the knowledge and skill of teammates on OWLS (and possibly other interested staff across the organization) in applying statistical analysis techniques.

(25%) Coach staff members across the organization, especially on regional teams, in using our data and products to drive organizational learning.

  • Collaborate with a variety of regional and national staff members to create and support live learning and engagement opportunities for staff.
  • Support the creation of self-service learning resources.
  • Provide additional ad hoc support as needed.

(25%) Lead or support ad hoc projects of strategic importance to OWLS. Recent examples include:

  • Identifying regional peer groupings to support cross-regional learning and reporting.
  • Prototyping “out of the box” solutions to enable regional teams to easily execute best practices on a common task such as debriefing team survey results.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree involving program evaluation, data analysis, statistics, etc. preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5 years of experience in a role involving data analysis and/or supporting/coaching others in using data in their day-to-day work
  • Some demonstrated experience independently managing own projects required
  • Working with colleagues who are based all over the country – using remote technologies (e.g., Zoom) and traveling periodically for in-person collaboration (estimated travel is once per quarter)
  • :Strong program evaluation and data analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Cultural competence, critical consciousness, and ability to work across lines of difference
  • Proficiency and comfort with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and a statistical analysis package (preferably SAS)
