We are looking for a Coordinator, Program Operations to execute on operations in support of the leadership development of our corps members and alumni. As the Coordinator, you are responsible for seamless support systems that enable the success of our staff working with our program participants, including event logistics, expense management, meeting scheduling and coordination, and data collection. You will also manage our partnership with Americorps, ensuring 100% compliance with the guidelines of this federal program. This role sits on the Collective Learning and Engagement team, charged with designing and executing programming across the Teach For America Los Angeles participant journey and regional staff, and reports to the Manager, Events and Programming. You will also provide support to the broader Impact team, responsible for developing our corps members in their first years in the classroom.

The ideal candidate has experience providing administrative or operational support to a team, is passionate about educational equity, and has a deep belief in the potential of our corps members and alumni to dramatically improve outcomes for students. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Operational Support (70%)

  • Coordinate, support, and execute on logistics for incoming corps member, corps member, and alumni programming and events, and for functional team meetings and outings
  • Support collection and input of data related to corps member and alumni experience, talent and placement, event attendance and outcomes, and other program-related workstreams
  • Process credit card and reimbursement expense reports for team leads, maintaining a high standard for compliance with organizational and federal requirements
  • Take on special projects as needed to support the team’s annual and long-term visions

Americorps Management (20%)

  • Lead the AmeriCorps program regionally by managing all seasonal processes related to the compliance of our Los Angeles corps members as participants in this service

Regional Team Responsibilities (10%)

  • Participate in regional and organization-wide initiatives and events such as corps member selection, staff learning and development days, new corps member confirmation, and other regional events
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1+ years of work experience required
  • Prior operational or administrative support experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to build relationships across lines of difference (ideology, race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, etc.)
  • Sincere interest in Teach For America’s mission and the communities we serve
  • Exceptional organization skills and detail orientation
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and discretion with confidential information
  • Ability to proactively identify others’ needs and operate with minimal direction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to execute under time pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Optimism and flexibility in overcoming obstacles
