The Computer Specialist position is responsible for providing computer/network support to the Y staff. This position will provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the YMCA's desktop computing environment. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user service and support requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain Service Level Agreement (SLA) expectations. Duties also include making sure all IT department records, and files are updated and processed in a timely manner.
Areas of Responsibility:
Computer Support (80%)
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, tickets, and /or emails regarding system problems.
- Act as liaison between staff, outside vendors, and contractors to ensure efficient operation of the Association's data and telecom environment.
- Collaborate with senior level team members to configure, troubleshoot, and support internal network and computer environment.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required ticket service levels.
- Provide first line hardware and software support for all branches and Metropolitan departments. This includes travel to other YMCA locations.
- Assist Telecommunications Manager in the support and maintenance of the Association's telecommunications infrastructure when needed. This includes support of cell phones, smart phones, data lines, and all other telecommunications equipment.
- Create, modify, and terminate YMCA employee access to all network applications as requested.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleanup of data records in association enterprise applications.
Administrative (20%)
- Develop and maintain accurate inventory of Association computer equipment: monitors, keyboards, mice, hard drives, locks, memory chips, UPS batteries, and software.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Application Development/Network Manager of IT.
Skills/Experience:
- 2-3 years' work related experience with personal computers and data processing systems
- Possess and demonstrate knowledge of PC hardware, software, and networks
- Demonstrated Microsoft Office and Office 365 knowledge
- Exceptional administrative, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with very limited supervision
- Able to anticipate and initiate work to be performed
- Experience working in a team oriented, and mission driven environment
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work with staff, vendors, and consultants at all levels
- Ability to handle physical demands; such as lifting 50 lbs., bending and crawling
- Must have own transportation for visits to other YMCA locations
