The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) California Southland Chapter is seeking a part-time paid Campaign Assistant to join a small, dedicated team in planning the Gala for the Man & Woman of the Year campaign, which raises over $1 million annually. This is an ideal position for a candidate interested in pursuing a career in non-profit, fundraising/development, sales/marketing, and/or event coordination while making a difference in the lives of people living with and affected by blood cancers.

We are looking for an organized and creative self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with a diverse audience. This person should have a strong work ethic, maintain close attention to detail, and be able to work independently as well as a part of a team. 

Hours: 15 hours a week, 3 days a week during office hours (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm) plus some events on weekday evenings or weekends when schedule allows; preferably to work at 8 weeks from April 23rd to June 15th.Location: 4929 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 800, Los Angeles, CA 90010This is a paid part time position– parking and mileage reimbursement is included

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist Man & Woman of the Year team in researching venues, party ideas, & more, managing RSVP lists, and assisting with tasks from making decor to logistics planning.
  • Researching local businesses to build sponsorship and in-kind prospect lists.
  • Assisting securing auction and raffle items. This often involves heavy phone calls, many times cold calls.
  • Assisting with maintenance of Social Media accounts.
  • Creating and updating campaign materials, including: correspondence, promotional packets, and flyers using Microsoft Publisher, Word, and Excel.
  • Office duties include photocopying, scanning, filing, data entry, and mailings.
  • Must be able to attend the Grand Finale Gala on June 9, 2018 at the Globe Theatre at Universal Studios.
  • Supporting all campaign staff as needed.
