We are looking for an ambitious, support-oriented professional to serve as the Associate, Executive Director Support as the "right hand" and partner to the Executive Director, who is responsible for leading all aspects of the region and reaching a year-over-year fundraising goal of $9M+. The ideal candidate is passionate about executive support and can build a nuanced perspective on how a team leader allocates time and energy. You will also perform operational tasks for the region as needed and play a role in staff culture and community efforts. You are customer service– and team-oriented; possess outstanding poise and professionalism; have a strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences on behalf of the Executive Director; and are able to anticipate challenges and proactively identify solutions. High levels of independence, detail orientation, flexibility, and commitment to quality work are critical to this role.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Executive Director Support (70%)

  • Support all aspects of Executive Director operations including, but not limited to, scheduling meetings and conference calls, maintaining calendars, arranging travel, managing meeting and follow up correspondence, planning proactively for future activities, and processing expenses and reimbursements.
  • Increase the efficiency and organization of the Executive Director by assessing Executive Director priorities and ensuring alignment with calendar and job requirements/expectations. 
  • Build relationships and interface in person, over email, and via telephone with regional team members, external constituents, and high-profile people/organizations (TFA leadership, donors, donor prospects, and supporters).
  • Draft and/or edit Executive Director communications including, but not limited to, announcements and messaging to external constituencies (donors, partners, corps members [teachers], and alumni) directly from the Executive Director and/or Development team and/or region; internal regional written communications; and presentations involving regional data and/or vision. 
  • Manage the Executive Director’s email inbox by reading, tracking, responding to, sorting, and delegating emails as needed.
  • Coordinate advance and day-of logistics and communication for regional Advisory Board meetings.
  • Create thorough prep materials for internal and external meetings and conferences, both independently and in collaboration with the Development team.

Regional Operations Support (30%)

  • Take on special projects as needed—including research, analysis, and engagement plans—to support the team’s annual and long-term visions. 
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure Executive Director time is maximized around important projects, including: the annual benefit dinner; other high-stakes fundraising and donor engagement events; and major corps, alumni, and regional team initiatives.
  • Participate in region- and organization-wide initiatives and events such as corps member selection, staff learning and development days, and new corps member confirmation.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years of work experience required
  • Prior administrative or executive support experience strongly preferred
