The Director is responsible for the overall planning, implementation and evaluation of the Teen Leaders Clubs, Teen Center, Robotics, Lego Leagues, Youth in Government, Child Watch and Summer Day Camp programs at the Lima Family YMCA. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop, manage and monitor department budget.  Meet or exceed budget targets.
  • Serve as staff liaison for Volunteer Advisory Committee.
  • Develop programs that meet the needs of the community, and that achieves YMCA goals.
  • Recruits, trains, supervise and evaluate staff /volunteers.
  • Develop & implement fundraising efforts for YMCA Teen programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential funding sources.
  • Develop and implement enrollment strategies.
  • Provides “hands-on” leadership to Teen programs.
  • Represents YMCA at appropriate meetings and events.
  • Models the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and provides/maintains an environment in which these values are evident to staff, volunteers, members and program participants.
  • Participate as an effective member of the YMCA Management team, providing assistance in YMCA activities/ special events, tour/ coverage duties, and attends all staff functions as directed.
  • Provides outreach and follow up service to teens.
  • Participate in community activities that promote the YMCA.
  • Prepare statistical, analytical and narrative reports regarding programs.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and leaders.
  • Ensure that all YMCA health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs.
  • Must become certified in CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 60 days of hire.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations.  Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $28,000.00 - $34,000.00
