Directs all aspects of membership for the branch including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and supervision of assigned staff. Develops, plans and implements new procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
- Creates a member-centric culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves complaints, questions, and concerns with care.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs member services center, building supervisor personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
- Ensures proper implementation of member services center procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff.
- Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA. Creates new member promotions.
- Recruits and solicits corporate memberships to businesses in the community.
- Produce accurate records on membership numbers, statistics and retention reports.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership.
- Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
- Develops expertise in the YMCA brand, including standards on voice, messaging and graphics. Acts as the Association’s brand coach, helping all staff members communicate our cause.
- Oversee all Media & Social Media communications. Such as the Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, cable and newspaper articles/promotions.
- Updates all YMCA bulletin boards & posted information in uniform order with the new YMCA branding.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Experience:
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with membership recruitment/retention programs
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills
- Strong leadership and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to provide facility tours
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database software, and Adobe products
- Demonstrated expertise in website content management systems and web analytics tools
- Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills
- CPR, First Aid & other program specific certifications required upon or after hire
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $37,000.00
