Sr. Director of Aquatics serves as the expert in Aquatics programming, development and delivery at the CM Gatton Beaumont YMCA, the Association’s largest location. The incumbent is responsible for providing vision, strategy, execution and leadership of all aquatic services at the branch and will contribute to the Association’s overall Aquatics strategy.

Areas of Responsibility: 

PORTFOLIO OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Two indoor pools, and two outdoor pools that are open during the summer. Facilitating aquatics certifications and maintaining aquatics best practices at assigned locations.

Essential Functions

  • Works and engages with all branch and aquatics staff to ensure consistent and seamless execution of programs and services at the Branch level.
  • Works with all Association Teams to implement programs and services based on data driven input.
  • Develop, manage and monitor assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommend adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submit reports on current operations.
  • Direct supervision of all aquatics staff at the location
  • Work with Branch Operations Directors to ensure high performance and consistency.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals and strategies.
Educational Background: 
This position requires a college degree in a related field or three years’ experience as well as aquatic trainer level certifications, including, but not limited to Lifeguard certification.
Skills/Experience: 

This position also requires strong organizational and leadership skills that lead to the successful accomplishment of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. Experience is required in staff supervision, fiscal management & program development.Some experience in financial development, community relations, team building is preferred. A person filling this position must demonstrate strong initiative, creativity, flexibility, and be able to operate and promote an environment that supports the YMCA’s mission and its four core values.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $48,000.00
