CCE Essex County is hiring a Youth and Family Senior Team Leader to head our 4-H Youth Development, Farm to School, and Senior Wellness staff and programs. Responsibilities include a wide range of program development within the CCE Community Vitality area. Salary is $55,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience and this position provides a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, and generous paid time off. Areas of Responsibility: 

This position will serve as the Youth and Family Sr. Team Leader for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Essex County and will provide leadership and management in program assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative education programs in the Community Vitality program area. The Sr. Team Leader is responsible for the effective management of resources available to Community Vitality programming. The individual will represent Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County before the public, community leaders, government officials, grant funders, and Cornell University in conjunction with program area responsibilities. Will assist in developing and/or enhancing/expanding relationships with appropriate agencies, organizations, industries, and community leaders. The Sr. Team Leader will develop and facilitate local community task forces/networks to bring together agencies with the goal of combining resources for local programming, cutting back on duplication of services while increasing services available to the community. This position participates as a member of the Association’s Management Team sharing responsibilities for overall Association programming, governance, and operations. The Sr. Team Leader supervises staff working within the Community Vitality program area.

Skills/Experience: 

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Two (2) years volunteer or related work experience.
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows-based software including use of the internet and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective supervision and management.
  • Demonstrated experience with fund development, management, and grant writing.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team with internal and external partners at multiple levels within organizations and across communities.
  • Ability to initiate, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate informal education programs for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and participate in professional team efforts and highly functioning work teams.
  • Ability to relate effectively to co-workers, advisors, community, and professional leaders and clientele groups.
  • Ability to identify and make use of program resources within the community and to establish a leadership role within the community and association.
  • Ability to identify and secure funding that supports programs, including grant writing, developing public and private partnerships.
  • Ability and willingness to work with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, organization, sound professional judgment, and the ability to handle confidential, sensitive information.
  • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines, requirements, and priorities to complete work in a timely manner and within established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, write and manage grants.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate (speak, read and write proficiently) in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual channels using traditional methods as well as electronic technology.
Compensation/Benefits: 

This position is a full-time exempt position - 100% FTE. The annual salary for this position will range from $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 commensurate with experience. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.
