The Lebanon YMCA is looking for an Aquatic Director to oversee the development, organization, and implementation of high-quality YMCA aquatic programs.  This Aquatic Director is responsible for ensuring the aquatics experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable for members and program participants.

The Aquatic Director is responsible for the operation of the Aquatics Department, maintaining a swim lesson program that meets the needs of the participants of all ages and swimming abilities as well as supervisory and administrative duties to assist in the direction of the Aquatic Program. This position supervises the Head Swim Team Coach, Water Aerobic Supervisor and the lifeguard coordinator.  Schedule flexibility will be a key component for this position.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.  
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. 
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. 
  • Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events. 
  • Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events. 
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner. 
  • Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations. 
  • Secures and schedules pool facilities. 
  • Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings
Educational Background: 
College Degree Preferred
Skills/Experience: 

The following education, work experience and certifications preferred and/or required:

  • Minimum 4 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 4 years customer service experience

Required Certifications

  • CPR/AED Certification (must be obtained prior to hire)
  • Current Lifeguard Certification (must be obtained prior to hire)
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $34,000.00 - $37,000.00
