The Master Teacher position is a full-time position. The Master Teacher is a key role player in the delivery of the ASYMCA’S mission and ministry to Fort Sill families. The Master teacher assumes the full responsibility of an assigned age group of the ASYMCA’S childcare program. The ASYMCA’S childcare program is a unique blend of part time and full-time care of children from 6 weeks to kindergarten age. The Master Teacher must possess the ability to supervise the caregivers under them, be a team player, and interact well with both children and parents.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Master Teacher must be able to oversee the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of the childcare area assigned.

  • Must have worked at least 3 years in a childcare setting
  • Must be a caring, positive role model to the children and other staff members
  • Be able to develop weekly lesson plans that are age appropriate and follow Early Guild Line
  • Support equivocally the agency, upper management and other master Teachers
  • Care about success of our agency
  • Joyfully do what is asked and have a positive attitude
  • Care for and appreciate our clients, treat everyone equally
  • Be able to supervise, nurture and train people
  • Be able to serve as Staff in Charge in the absence of the Executive Director, Center Director and Childcare Director
Educational Background: 
Have a CDA or Certificate of Mastery in Child Development
Skills/Experience: 
  • Supervising, nurturing and training of the childcare staff assigned
  • Planning and implementation of class curriculum and activities
  • Classroom appearance and attractiveness
  • Make sure daily sheets are filled out and sent home with child/children
  • Turn in supply list to Childcare Director weekly
  • Keep weekly lesson plan posted
  • Make sure incident/accident reports are filled out on anything that happens to a child in your care. Make sure they are signed by supervisor and a copy is given to the parents
  • Make sure your play areas are cleaned up properly after use
  • Make sure laundry is done per assigned times
  • Be responsible for room arrangements in interest areas
  • No menial tasks are to be performed by Master Teachers (Master Teachers should designate other staff members to perform such duties)
  • Make effort to ensure all full time and part time slots are filled throughout the day
  • Any additional tasks the Childcare Director deems necessary
  • Be able to assist Childcare Director with licensing and health department requirements
