As the Manager, Staff Engagement and Operations you will serve as a key team partner and leader of operations for Teach For America- Las Vegas Valley. This position that will serve as the key connector amongst all regional staff in staff engagement and cross-functional projects, and will maintain key processes and systems to operationalize how our team functions, as well as provide additional operational support to other leaders in our office.
You are an organized, natural self-starter and work with a strong orientation to culture, systems-level thinking, team management, and functional operations. An obsession to detail, the ability to anticipate problems, and a collaborative work ethic are critical in this role. The Manager, Staff Engagement and Operations is a member of the Culture, Operations, Development, and Strategy (CODS) team and will report to the Chief of Staff (COS).
Staff Growth, Learning, and Engagement (30%)
- Develop internal LVV communications strategy to yield increased transparency and cross-functional information sharing
- Form vision, programming, and execution of full team learning spaces including but not limited to team retreats and full team meetings that foster staff development
- Manage different feedback mechanisms to gauge staff culture, operations, and other areas aligned to Culture, Operations, Development, and Strategy team’s strategy including but not limited to LVV Office Survey
- Consult and support execution of culture strategy with the Culture, Operations, Development, and Strategy team
- Ensure all staff complete annual Great Places to Work survey
- Plan and facilitate post-survey results conversation and regular follow up on commitments
- Work with managers to create action plans in based on an analysis of results from the Great Places to Work survey
- Lead on other special projects as needed, including conducting research and identifying strategic options and learning best practices from our colleagues across the organization
Fiscal Stewardship and Management (20%)
- Manage the team budget and set strategy for fiscal stewardship and sustainability through spending. Enables team to meet budget goals through clear expectations and guidance. This includes, but is not limited to, monthly forecasting and meeting with ED and functional team leaders to align on spending
- Manage operational/system-wide compliance for the region including timesheet and technology compliance
- Serves as a Budget & HA compliance point person to national team and buyer for the regional team.
- Amex management for full staff to ensure compliance with national accountability measures.
- Manage grants for increased fiscal stewardship
Operations, Knowledge Management, and Systems (30%)
- Create and manage an internal information Hub aligned with national support structures with Chief of Staff
- Develop and manage regional dashboard which reflects progress-to-goal across every functional area, and can be used to flag trends, risks, challenges, and successes for the broader regional team
- Help coordinate team-wide and cross-functional operations capacity and support, ensuring consistent alignment on expectations and outcomes for logistics alongside Associate of Program Continuum; Manager of Development Operations and Communications and Associate of CODS and project management. This includes but not limited to Amazon Business and part-time hiring.
- Create a plan and process for information to be transitioned and distributed equally. This may look like a centralized knowledge hub with focus on knowledge transitions.
- Advise on cross-functional project management
- Systematize LVV internal and external hiring processes

- At least four years of work experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience with Human Assets and Budgeting preferred
- Teach For America experience preferred
Work Demands:
- Occasional weekend and evening work to support events
- Presence in the office during normal business hours is required.
