The ideal candidate for the Manager, Development Operations & Communications (Manager Devo Ops & Comms) on the Teach For America – Las Vegas Valley (TFA-LVV) team will be organized, articulate and passionate about the mission. We are looking for you to provide critical support for the regional development team, enabling the region to move more efficiently and effectively toward reaching an ambitious revenue goal of over $8 million in operating revenue. Your role as the Manager Devo Ops & Comms will report directly to the Managing Director, Development. Your primary responsibilities include: managing and leading efficient systems for development and marketing processes, enabling the team to manage donor relationships and activities; managing and tracking data so the team can use it to inform strategy and track progress to goal, managing communications and marketing for the region; and partnering with the Managing Director, Development to ensure effective development team operations. Your ability to navigate the detail-oriented, fast-paced, multi-faceted and time-sensitive leadership managing the operations and communications for the development team will allow us to successfully reach our philanthropic and stewardship goals.
Development Operations (30%)
- Manages the agenda and serves as note-taker during development team meetings and sends follow-up to ensure all action items are aligned on the team
- Manages team’s annual calendar
- Manages team budget
- Manages team supplies including donor gifts, event and campaign items
- Manages team expense reports and department credit card(s)
- Manages all gift processing and acknowledgments in entirety
- Maintains database to ensure accuracy of all accounts
- Participates in department deliverables (including weekly reports, meetings, database, etc.)
Campaign and Event Management (30%)
- Manages and executes donor campaigns
- Responsible for leading data management, including emails, mailers, and all other engagement
- Manages development events (school visits, dinners, fundraisers) including all logistics
- Assists with corps member development leadership program planning and logistics
- Collects and analyzes event data to maximize success and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in department Regional Board subcommittee
Communications and Marketing (20%)
- Creates and executes on a plan for team-wide external communications with minimal guidance
- Ensures all external communications are aligned with brand standards
- Develops materials for Executive Director and Development Team meetings
- Responsible for external social media communication on Facebook per established scope and sequence
- Responsible for managing and executing communication lists (emails, newsletters, mailers, annual reports, etc)
- Ghost-writes, proofreads and edits external communications for Executive Director and Development Team
- Delivers analytics reports on communications to full team
- Executes in creating fundraising marketing materials in collaboration with the team about Teach For America’s vision, priorities, and goals, including written appeals, renewal notices, reports, proposals, event invitations, PowerPoint decks and one-pagers
Regional Team Responsibilities (20%)
- Supports, attends, and/or participates in all regional and development team activities, including corps member selection and matriculation, full staff corps-facing events like All Corps Conferences and Induction (including weekends), staff meetings, functional team meetings and retreats, and more
- Supports all shared development team responsibilities, including board meetings, school visits, etc.
- Prior communications and/or executive operations experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing social media a plus
- Must be proficient in MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with MS Publisher, MailChimp, Pardot a plus
- Experience with salesforce.com or other CRM systems a plus
Work Demands
- Some evening or weekend work will be required during peak periods
- Some travel required for conferences or trainings (1-2 times per year)

- Minimum of three years of professional experience; communications, marketing, or public relations experience preferred
