The Michigan Strategy and Project Information Manager will work with a team of scientists, finance and operations staff, as well as with project management staff to populate and develop conservation project information and strategy documents to ensure transparent and efficient conservation work.
This is a 6-month, 19 hour per week position.
She/he maintains and populates data and produces reports as needed to support project management and trains staff in use of software for these same purposes.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- May supervise a small staff of interns and/or volunteers on a project basis.
- Ensures integrity of both data collection and management relating to conservation projects and project statistics.
- Work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people, including scientists, strategy managers, operations staff and others, providing and obtaining needed information.
- Resolve routine issues independently.
- Manage, maintain and populate databases using computer spatial or tabular based management skills.
- BA/BS or Associates degree in related field and 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience maintaining and populating databases and manual files.
- Experience documenting project information and producing reports
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web browsers.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform administrative duties emphasizing detail-oriented and numerical tasks including data entry.
- Database and computer spatial or tabular based management skills including managing, maintaining and populating databases.
- Building, populating and producing reports from databases.
- Managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
- Communicating clearly via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
