The Digital Marketing Manager for the Michigan Chapter will play a key role in implementing activities identified across multiple communications plans. The Communications team works closely with conservation staff to help move their work forward in protecting land and water, tackling climate change, providing food and water sustainably and building healthy cities. S/he will work with the Chapter’s Director of Strategic Communications to develop Digital Marketing strategies and goals; will be responsible for creating and posting timely information on the Chapter’s website and social media channels; and will serve as the Chapter’s main connection to the Global Digital Team, ensuring local-to-global alignment of priorities, strategies and goals. S/he will also track analytics for digital activities and report progress to the Director of Strategic Communications.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Digital Marketing Manager creates and manages creative and written content for social media, websites, e-newsletters and other digital assets. S/he works closely with other marketing and communications colleagues and conservation staff within the Michigan Chapter, the Midwest Division and North America Region to tell powerful stories digitally.  S/he tracks and analyzes digital/social processes and results and reports findings to the Director of Strategic Communications. S/he works closely with the Director to create and implement annual digital marketing plans and a content promotional calendar that increases visibility of The Nature Conservancy across Michigan. S/he acts as Michigan connection to the Global Digital Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

  • Coordinates projects and manages a timeline. 
  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines. 
  • Works within a budget to complete assigned projects or work.
  • Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks. 
  • Works with Communications, Conservation and Development team members to gather information necessary to create accurate and compelling digital content.
  • Works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables when necessary.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience managing multiple social media accounts.
  • Experience creating social and website content.
  • Experience working with social media and web analytics (Google and/or Adobe Analytics).
  • Experience working with videos and multimedia.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating projects.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using Adobe products, including Photoshop, InDesign and Experience Manager.
  • Experience using content management systems and social enterprise tools.
  • Experience working with social media and web analytics (Google and/or Adobe Analytics) and running reports.
  • Experience with e-mail marketing.
  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, use mail merges and advanced functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic application knowledge of project management principles.
  • Practical application of marketing concepts.
