The Communications Program Coordinator for the Michigan Chapter will play a key role in supporting the implementation of activities within multiple communications plans. The Communications team works closely with conservation staff to help move their work forward in protecting land and water, tackling climate change, providing food and water sustainably and building healthy cities. S/he will support the development of written communication assets, the sharing of those assets on digital and social channels and maintaining those assets for easy access by Chapter staff.
The Communications Program Coordinator coordinates marketing projects and provides administrative support for the Marketing and Communications team. S/he works closely with program leads/managers and vendors to implement tactics identified in the Chapter’s communications plans. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining communications resources and assets, assisting with website/digital updates and social media accounts, providing support for events, and managing various production processes. S/he tracks project results and report findings and provides strong attention to detail. S/he assists the team with other communications, marketing, and administrative needs as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Coordinates ongoing work and basic projects.
- Duties are performed under direct supervision and established guidelines.
- Interprets guidelines and analyzes factual information/data.
- 1-year related experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience with relevant technology such as Microsoft Suite needed for communications, constructing reports and managing calendars.
- Experience providing administrative or project support.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Experience writing, editing and proofreading written materials.
- Solid knowledge of technology with ability to produce reports, use mail merges and advanced Excel, Outlook or Word functions.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate efforts and organize in order to complete assigned tasks/projects.
