Responsible for the successful administration and operation of School Age Child Care (SACC), Summer Day Camp, and Universal Pre-K (UPK) departments.  Plans, schedules and manages programming. Supervises program staff.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages, directs, and coordinates the assigned programs.  Ensures high-quality programs, establishes new program activities, and ensures program enrollment targets are met.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs employees and volunteers.  Reviews and evaluates staff performance.  Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position.  Exercises necessary controls to ensure operations are carried out and a balanced fiscal operation exists. 
  • Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.  Ensures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.  Responds to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Provides staff leadership for the Annual Campaign and committees as assigned.
  • Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.
  • Maintains proper records and department files.
  • Organizes special events related to the program area.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness.  Develops and implements an action plan to address areas of improvement and to respond to customer feedback.
  • Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Carries out other tasks as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • One to two years of related experience, as a coordinator or supervisor of related programs.
  • Ability to direct assigned operations including supervision and development of staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use analytical, interpretative and evaluative thought in making decisions and solving problems. 
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Competency using Microsoft Office software.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $43,300.00
