Areas of Responsibility: 
  • As the program director at the Baker Bulldog Center, you will build relationships, instill confidence, and provide opportunities for growth and improvement by overseeing, coordinating, and expanding school year and summer programs and partnerships at Baker Middle School for the Baker Bulldog Center.
  • Through your leadership, instruction, and motivation you will support the academic, health and social success of students in accordance with the goals and mission of Baker Middle School and the YMCA. You will supervise and coordinate the implementation and evaluation of a broad range of programs before, during and/or after school, as well as during school breaks.
Educational Background: 
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as education, social work, recreation, etc.
Skills/Experience: 
  • I have at least two years of youth development, program management, and staff supervision.
  • I have strong written and verbal communication skills. (Bi-lingual preferred)
  • I have the ability to work within a culturally, socio-economically diverse school and community setting and effectively communicate with staff, parents, students, and community partners.
  • I have the ability to maintain confidentiality; deal with changing priorities; work under frequent interruptions; and work as part of a team.
  • I have the knowledge of skills needed for students to make healthy, successful progress academically, emotionally and socially.
  • I can prepare and maintain accurate records, plan and manage projects.
  • I am proficient with standard office equipment, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.).
  • I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid and Oxygen certifications or can obtain them within 30 days of hire.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $18.54
