Would you like to use your knowledge and skills to provide a successful experience to Y staff, school district leadership and students in the Franklin Pierce School District? As the senior director, you will oversee the development and successful operations of Franklin Pierce School District comprehensive elementary school Physical Education program, middle school Achievement Center program and/or Tacoma School District’s Youth Sports Program Collaborative.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Through your leadership, instruction, and motivation you will develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program growth. You will supervise and coordinate the implementation and evaluation of a broad range of programs before, during and/or after school, as well as during school breaks. You will recruit, train and support both full time and part time staff each school year.
  • If hired for this position, you will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations. You will also meet performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
Educational Background: 
I have a Bachelor's degree in education, human services, social services, recreation or related field. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • I have four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • I have knowledge of and experience in directing programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising.
  • I have related experience and/or expertise in Childhood and Youth Development
  • I have a positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations
  • I have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
  • I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid and Oxygen certifications or can obtain them within 30 days of hire.

Salary: $47,476.00
