  • Work for the leading youth-serving organization in the La Crosse area.

These are part-time and full-time temporary positions working in elementary schools in the following cities: La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen and Bangor, Wisconsin. These positions are available from May 14th until August 24th.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Must be an active program leader and participate in physical activities that require running, throwing, etc.
  • Responsible for assuring high standards of program quality, and safety in accordance with YMCA safety and risk management policies and state child care licensing regulations and requirements.
  • Implement curriculum to ensure character development, relationship building and the mission of the YMCA are key components to the school-age programs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with principals and personnel of the schools on behalf of the YMCA School Age Programs.
  • Arrive for shifts on time and be prepared to stay for the entire shift. 
  • Prepare needed materials, supplies and snacks needed for program operation.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized school age site.
  • Complete necessary site paperwork including snack production records and attendance records.   
  • Supervise and interact with children positively and appropriately at all times
  • Consistently enforce site rules using positive guidance techniques. 
  • Actively initiate and participate in program activities.
Skills/Experience: 
  • A passion for acting as a strong role model for youth
  • Positive, nurturing personality and strong communication skills
  • Education & experience in early childhood is preferred
  • CPR/First Aid CPR Certification (within 6 months of hire)
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $9.00 - $10.00
