Make a difference in our community by organizing and leading efforts to ensure youth in our community have continuous access to healthy meals. 

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently hiring a Community Nutrition Director to manage, implement and ensure compliance of the YMCA’s community nutrition programs.  These programs include the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).  Under the direction and supervision of the School Age Administrator, the Community Nutrition Director should have the education and experience required to operate a large-scale, multi-faceted food service operation.  This is a full-time exempt position working 40 hours per week.  The schedule varies depending on the demands of the position’s responsibilities. Full benefits package including 12% retirement after 2 years of service and a free Y membership. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and maintain CACFP and SFSP contracts through the Department of Public Instruction.
  • Ensure the completion of all documentation, data tracking, reports, and reimbursement claims as required by DPI and YMCA standards.
  • Create and implement menus that adhere to CACFP guidelines and the YMCA’s HEPA standards.
  • Coordinate weekly purchasing, delivery, and inventory of food and non-food items.
  • Oversee sorting and distribution of meals to all School Age programs and community locations.
  • Collaborate with external partners to enhance the quality, exposure, and growth of the programs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise employees and volunteers as necessary for the implementation of the CACFP and SFSP programs.
  • Collaborate with other YMCA Directors to implement a comprehensive training model for program staff to ensure compliance with CACFP, State Licensing, and YMCA standards.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to analyze complex processes and implement continuous improvements
  • Ability to foster positive relationships within a network of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Competency in the use Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Food service and supervisory experience preferred 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $31,700.00 - $35,000.00
