At the La Crosse Area Family YMCA, we believe that every child should know the life-saving skills of swimming and that every community resident should have the opportunity to experience the joy and well-being that water activities can bring. To accomplish this, our Aquatics Coordinator will work side-by-side with our Houser Aquatics Director and their staff team to create a welcoming pool environment for all and to develop high-quality programming with a focus on water safety and education. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • This position will assist in overseeing the operations of all aquatics programming and the supervision of lifeguards and swim lesson/water safety instructors.
  • This position’s time will be split between administrative work supporting the overall Aquatics Department and instructing swim lessons and lifeguarding. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Candidates for this position must have strong relationship building and communication skills, a passion for aquatics and water safety, and be highly innovative and organized. 
  • Candidates must have up-to-date certifications in Professional CPR/AED and First Aid, and YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications; and strong interpersonal & communication skills. This is a full-time non-exempt position with a full benefits package.

Hourly: $14.00 - $16.00
