We are seeking a highly passionate, visionary team member who can provide leadership to our YMCA Early Childhood Full Day Child Care Center for children 6 weeks to 5 years at our La Crosse Area Family YMCA Houser branch located in Onalaska, WI.

Our Director will work side-by-side with an Assistant Director, teachers, colleagues and our community to create a welcoming, quality child care center for families.

This is a full-time exempt position working 40+ hours per week and includes a full benefits package including a free family Y membership, discounts on Y programs and 12% retirement paid by the Y after two years of service.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee and manage the Early Childhood Child Care Center. 100 spot full-time child care center. 
  • Hire, supervise, coach, train, and schedule staff. 16 full-time employees and 15-20 part-time employees. 
  • Assure high standards of program quality and safety guidelines.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years licensed childcare experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • A passion for working with staff to develop their skills as youth development leaders.
  • Possess strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Be highly innovative.
  • Possess a vision for collaborating and facilitating programming to guide the development of the youth participants, families and staff. 
  • CPR & First Aid certified 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $36,600.00 - $41,000.00
