The Branch Manager is responsible for leading a team of staff and program volunteers in development and implementation of tactics of the association’s strategic direction, goals, objectives, and strategies as defined by the Association, the strategic and operating plans for the assigned service area.  The Branch Manager is responsible for staff and program volunteer development, staff supervision, member relations, program development and implementation, branch operations, financial management and branch special events. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

BRANCH MANAGEMENT:

  • Manages operating budget, controls expense and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure budgetary goals are achieved.  Works with staff to control expenses and increase efficiencies. Meets financial reporting deadlines and requirements as needed.
  • Oversees the management and maintenance of the assigned branch.  Develops and administers the facility plans and branch safety program. 
  • Oversees the marketing and public relations programs of the assigned branch.
  • Leads and directs program leaders, staff and program volunteers in the development, implementation, and delivery of program tactics.  
  • Evaluate programs for operational effectiveness including budgetary goals and impact.  Recommends changes and needs for new services.   
  • Recruit, lead, develop and evaluate staff and program volunteers. 
  • Works with the COO to develop operating budget and forecast revenues that ensure growth and sustainability of Y programs

FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Works with the Director of Development to develop financial development strategy including the annual KIDS to CAMP campaign
  • Leads the branch financial development strategies including the management of the branch special events and the development of sponsorship opportunities. 

INNOVATION:

  • Works with the Chief Operating Officer, staff and program volunteers to develop mission oriented tactics that meet the needs our members, our community, and our operating objectives.   Continuously gather and evaluate community trends.
  • Maintain strong relationships and partnerships with established organizations and civic organizations to ensure we are meeting member and community needs. Actively participates in at least one community service organization in their assigned service area.  
  • Gather and evaluate market trends and develop effective marketing and communications strategies to promote the Y, initiatives, programs, and benefits.  

GENERAL:

  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives and the mission of the YMCA.
  • Act as representative of the YMCA of the Foothills at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in business administration, human services or related area or an equivalent combination of experience and education; related graduate degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five (5) or more years management experience, preferably in the YMCA and/or not-for-profit sector, including short and long term planning, program volunteer development, and multi-department program management experience.
  • Three (3) years or more experience with multi-program development, implementation, and management required.  
  • Insight and skill to effectively lead a voluntary, not-for-profit organization within a complex internal and external environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in member relations, financial management, and volunteer development.
  • Ability to attract, retain, lead and motivate quality staff and volunteer leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community resources and the ability to engage and partner these resources with the YMCA to meet strategic objectives.
  • Must have commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics.
  • Must be an articulate spokesperson on behalf of the YMCA.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00
