The Kokomo Family YMCA is looking for a mission-focused financial professional to be part of our leadership team.

Develops, implements and monitors the business and operational functions of the Association including accounting, investments, information technology, business department personnel, purchasing coordination, and internal systems of records and control.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information for the association.
  • Detailed tracking and analysis of the association’s financial position and all relevant data including annual operating budget
  • Oversees and/or performs the cash receipt process and purchase order system
  • Oversee information technology as it relates to our financial software.
  • Responsible for oversight of accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable.
  • Ensure data integrity, safeguarding of physical assets, and keep confidential information secure.
  • Responsible for providing forecasting of all financial activities.
  • Preparation of monthly internal financial reporting to the organization.
  • Preparation, review, and audit of internal and external financial reports.
  • Initiate and develop association budgeting process along with organizational leadership.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of property tax filings, corporate filings, and all other Federal, State and Local government filings
  • Act as point of contact for the annual external financial statement on-site audit.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures as they relate to finance and internal controls.
  • Establish and maintain processes to ensure data integrity, safeguarding of association assets and data security
  • Develop and implement systems of financial reporting, control, and management. The system should comply with requirements of association auditors. System should provide records to assist the program and facility staff with information necessary for appropriate decision-making.
  • Monitor the cash flow of the association to maximize earnings on investments.
  • Assist in implementing approved systems for registration, receipting and related matters.
  • Ensure coordination of systems and procedures by serving as a member of the association’s exempt staff team.
  • Directly supervise department employees and volunteers.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Recruit, coach, develop and train all business office staff.
  • Provides administrative support function related to assigned committees and the Board of
Educational Background: 
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 – 5 years related finance/accounting and fiscal management experience.
  • Proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting for not-for-profit entities.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office and accounting-based systems.
  • Excel in relationship building and the ability to lead a team to provide accurate financial
  • information.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00
