Organizes, monitors, supervises, and maintains all RGS YMCA Youth and Family programming. Provides leadership, instruction and motivation for program participants. Provides a quality experience to community members focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program growth for the YMCA.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Develops and controls department budgets related to the position. Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas.
- Facilitates communication and provides leadership.
- Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
- Provides leadership and support to sponsorship and volunteer committees.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
- Assures compliance with state and local regulations.
- Ensures that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.
- Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
- Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in a sports and/or recreation related field
Skills/Experience:
- Two years related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, and staff/volunteer development.
- Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communication, supervision, and computer knowledge.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $28,000.00 - $32,000.00
