As a member of the YMCA Leadership Staff, the Director of Membership, directs all phases of member acquisition, membership engagement, development, sales and retention. Is directly responsible for staffing, leading the Welcome Center and Child Watch. Works to develop, plan and implement new procedures and methods to achieve Association objectives in membership growth and retention. The Director of Membership will create and embrace a diverse and inclusive YMCA community to grow our local impact, activate our global network and multiply our mission.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Works actively with community businesses, organizations and groups to lead and direct membership programs.
- Directs and leads member acquisition, development and satisfaction.
- Is responsible for creating awareness of membership opportunities in and for the community
- Actively supports and engages in the Annual Campaign to raise awareness and encourage members and participants to contribute.
- Monitors, reviews and adjusts, as appropriate, membership statistics, acquisition and retention reports.
- Works with the Director of marketing to deliver quality promotional materials and membership campaigns.
- Leads and directs the recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and supervision for all employees within assigned program areas. Provides ongoing supervision and training to the Welcome Center and Child Watch.
- Directs and leads Association Customer Service Center consistency in practices and policies, insuring high-quality business practices across the board.
- Responsible for identifying target markets within Armstrong County and surrounding communities to promote programs while working with staff to identify membership opportunities.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of two year’s customer service experience and 2 years of management/supervisory experience
- Excellent customer service, problem-solving, interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
- Must be self-directed, motivated, and creative
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Publisher
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $35,000.00
