As a member of the YMCA Leadership Staff, the Director of Aquatics provides leadership while managing programs, staff, departmental budget, and fiscal responsibilities for the aquatics department.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The Director of Aquatics ensures the aquatics experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable for members and program participants. Responsibilities include leadership and supervision of all aquatic lessons, both group and private, lifeguards and all related aquatic activities that involve community collaborations.
  • The Director of Aquatics will hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff to ensure the aquatics team provides a safe environment for all members and participants. Develops and offers ongoing aquatic programs including but not limited to swim team, swim lessons, water safety classes, water aerobics, lifeguard certification, ASHI certification, and special events. Test and adjust water chemistry to maintain PA Department of Health pool water quality standards.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, and staff/volunteer development.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communication, supervision, and computer knowledge.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $32,000.00 - $35,000.00
