This position builds relationships and provides an environment for staff and volunteers that fosters teamwork, supports the development of quality programs, and facilitates good stewardship of branch resources. Ensure programming meets the needs of our community and members.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assists with the management and operation of the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County.
- Oversees the Management of Aquatics, Membership, Health & Wellness and Childcare/Camp departments in accordance to the policies, procedures and standards established by the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County Board of Directors.
- Assists with Committee and other Volunteer recruitment for key departments
- This position may involve early morning, evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities
- Manages and monitors various programs and provide reports and other feedback to ensure successful branch operations and growth.
- Conducts annual performance reviews
- Supports the Association in recruitment of diverse staff and volunteers: Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains staff in accordance with established Association policies; plans, assigns, and directs work; rewards and disciplines staff; addresses complaints and resolves problems
- Manages and monitors the branch operating budget and annual budget development for assigned departments
- Operates program areas within directives and policies of the Association
- Maintains systems of financial control including revenues, expenses, and inventories
- Participates as a key staff in the Annual Campaign by telling the Y story, by recruiting, leading and supervising volunteers and securing charitable donations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university, Master’s degree preferred;
Skills/Experience:
- Three to five years of department head management and YMCA Senior Program Director experience, program development, budget management, fundraising, and community collaboration experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- YMCA or Not-for-Profit Management experience preferred. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles. Working knowledge of computers and experience with a variety of software applications.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification, or equivalent education, experience or training, YMCA Executive Development Program certification, preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), preferred AED/Oxygen and First aid certificate, preferred
- CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $51,000.00 - $65,000.00
