The Kennett Area YMCA is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the key leadership role of Advanced Healthy Living Director.

The Kennett Area YMCA is a 70,000 square foot facility with 2 gyms, 3 fitness centers, a Montessori Preschool program, 2 indoor pools, 3 outdoor pools, an outdoor adventure space including a 50 foot climbing tower, art studio and group exercise studios. This is an excellent opportunity for a tenured staff person who has demonstrated competencies in staff and program development, communication skills, relationship building, and project management. We are currently seeking candidates with a commitment to member engagement and excellent service.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Advanced Director of Healthy Living provides operational leadership to community integrated health initiatives, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the wellness center, personal training, and group exercise programming. 
  • The Advanced Director of Healthy Living leads initiatives to increase the YMCA's position in the community as a leading partner in addressing chronic health challenges along with serving those with Diverse Abilities. 
  • This position serves on the branch leadership team and is also responsible for managing healthy living related financials, supervision of staff, volunteer development and for being a YMCA advocate in the community. 
  • A strong focus is placed on delivering a superior member experience, enhancing member connection and engagement, thereby leading to increasing member satisfaction and retention.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in a health and wellness related field or equivalent preferred. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in health and wellness management and staff supervision. 
  • Experience with Diabetes Prevention, LIVESTRONG at the Y or other chronic health programs a plus. 
  • Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and evenings.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $47,500.00 - $50,000.00
