The Kennett Y is seeking an Aquatic Director who can lead the aquatics team and develop, organize and implement quality aquatic programs.

Under the direction of our Senior Program Director, the Aquatic Director ensures the aquatics experience is safe, fun and enjoyable for members and program participants. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsibilities include supervision of all aquatic safety programming and staff for our two indoor and three outdoor pools and all related aquatic activities that involve community collaborations.  The Aquatic Director will hire, train, schedule and supervise full time leadership staff, including an Aquatic Safety Coordinator, Swim Lesson Coordinator and Head Swim Coach.  Additionally, the Aquatic Director is expected to work hands on with aquatic programs when needed and fulfill general building director duties as assigned.  The Aquatic Director will also perform other duties, as necessary.

Skills/Experience: 

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent preferred.  Two years or more of YMCA experience or related experience within another organization may be considered.  Ellis Lifeguard Certification preferred.  YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor trainer preferred.  Proven skill in staff leadership and supervision, safety and risk management expertise, budget management and relationship building is needed to be successful in this position.  Seeking a team player who is flexible with work schedule as evening and weekend coverage will be required. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
