Senior Director, Innovation and Healthcare Integration is responsible for leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of primary, secondary and tertiary Healthy Living programs. This position is expected to provide oversight across the association of new and existing evidence-based health interventions, research programs and healthcare integration partnerships.  The Senior Director Innovation and Healthcare Integration will support the development and facilitation of the strategic plan related to innovation and healthcare integration by tracking program progress, evaluating program outcomes, and communicating progress with all stakeholders to meet goals and revenue targets in specific program areas. This position will also serve as the national liaison to YUSA and other national partnerships for programs and services related to population health, innovation and healthcare integration. The Senior Director, Innovation and Healthcare Integration will work in close collaboration with the Senior Director, Healthy Living to meet the strategic goals of the Association.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Healthy Living

  • Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Community Integrated Health, plans, develops, and implements primary, secondary and tertiary Healthy Living programs.
  • Support the development and facilitation of the strategic plan for chronic disease prevention and management programming, by tracking program progress, evaluating program outcomes, and communicating progress with all stakeholders to meet goals and revenue targets in specific program area.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate and supervise a team of associates.
  • Conduct department meetings on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate and complete certifications for all team members
  • Work closely with grants administration team to secure and monitor funding for programs.
  • Attend community functions and events to promote the Y, its mission, programs and to identify and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Develop program retention and sales initiatives.
  • Prepare and evaluate monthly reports.
  • Organize training(s), and support staff in implementing research, new innovations and chronic disease prevention and management programs.
  • Monitor the quality of support that program leaders provide to program participants.
  • Engage marketing associates to ensure adequate publicity and marketing of programs.
  • Regularly analyze data from programs to ensure it meets quality performance standards.
  • Audit programs to ensure compliance with program standards.
  • Participate on regularly-scheduled conference calls with Y-USA and other Ys participating in YMCA’s signature programs.
  • Attend and present at one local or national level conference annually (in-person or virtual) to share program strategies and outcomes

Innovation, Healthcare and Community Integration

  • Establish relationships with public health, physician, and payer communities and other referral networks to enhance awareness of and referrals to the program.
  • Serve as a liaison, ambassador, and advocate for the YMCA’s chronic disease prevention and management programs within public health, physician, healthcare and payer communities.
  • Assist senior Y leaders in leveraging relationships with public health, physician and payer communities for the benefit of the program.
  • Act as spokesperson about the program for the press and media.
  • Serve as primary contact and participate in market launch activities.
  • Assist in writing grants to support association level and department level initiatives.
  • Meet regularly with grants administration team related to current and future grant activities.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of research study programs.
  • Oversee the implementation of new technology solutions to support healthy living programs and innovation initiatives.

Kansas City YMCA Association

  • Develop, monitor and control the annual income and expense budget for the department.
  • Assist with meeting program revenue goals for personal training and group exercise programs.
  • Participate with association health and wellness team.
  • Support the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s Annual Mission Campaign.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field of study or related area is required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a health-related field or a related area.
  • Healthcare or Public Health background a plus.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience and ability to direct a team.
  • Current CPR (child and adult), AED, and First Aid.
  • Current ACE or AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification and/or a personal training certification that is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies highly recommended but not required.
  • Extensive experience utilizing email, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint))
  • Must be able to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner as well as build strong relationships.
  • Must be able to manage and monitor a department budget including grants management activities.
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have outstanding communication skills including facilitation and communication to mid and large size groups.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • A passion for data and details including measuring and reporting program outcomes.
  • Work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders (physicians, public health officials, employers, payers, health seekers, and senior Y leaders and lifestyle coaches).
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary :$49,000.00 - $61,000.00
