Develops, organizes and implements high quality before and after school programming for the Smith Family YMCA’s Youth and Family Department, including, but not limited to: Before & After School Care; Before & After School Billing; and support Youth/Family Special Events.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages, directs and coordinates the Before & After School Program for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Recruits, hires, train, develops, schedules and directs personnel (full-time, part-time and seasonal) and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Assures compliance with YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
- Ensures accurate billing and collections for all participants.
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of before and after school program information, including timely and accurate submissions to the Marketing team. May organize and schedule program registrations, distribute fliers and/or attend community expos.
- Communicates well with others.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Assists with assigned volunteer Boards, Councils and Committees.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Perform duties as required by the absence of staff.
- Accepts other duties as deemed appropriate within the scope of this job description.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, Blood Bourne Pathogens, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
- Working knowledge of excel is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00
