The Finance Specialist provides highly specialized finance & accounting-related services to Membership and Development Department in YKAN.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Finance and accounting related support to Membership Team:

  • Ensuring incoming fund reported by Membership team based on their monthly report/dashboard, is reconcile with the actual cash received in YKAN Bank Account
  • Ensuring all in-country revenue in all bank account are recorded timely through batching process and upload in the Insight system, following YKAN SOP.
  • Ensuring that all bank reconciliation is prepared accurately and timely; along with Journal Entry if required.
  • Coordinating with membership team, ensuring that reports from agency (such as SG) are verified and reconciled with bank statement and Insight system. 
  • Working closely with membership administrator, and Jakarta Accountant to ensure that all transactions (payment out) are recorded into Insight System, and ensure all supporting documents kept properly.
  • Monitoring the actual expenses of Membership activity, provide the necessary analysis reports for management as required.
  • Assisting Finance team to conduct specific assignment related to the implementation of Membership Business Plan in the area of finance (audit of flow of fund, review of all supporting documentation, include flow of supporting document from field fundraiser until being input in to dashboard)

The Financial Accountant will also have close coordination with (1) YKAN Membership team in related to managing supporting document of incoming fund, (2) Agency partner (such as SG) to gather necessary report, (3) Bank for reconciliation process.

Backup office support to Development team:

  • Compiling the work plan and assist in the preparation budget for project proposal lead by the Project Manager.
  • Coordinating with finance lead of Terrestrial and Ocean Program to ensure that all project expenses are recorded accurately, also provide the actual project expenses report of Corporate Practice or Corporate Engagement activity compare to the approved budget.
  • Supporting the Jakarta accountant to manage, fill, and distribute Tax Deposit Slip (if applicable) to vendors on monthly basis. He/she ensures that YKAN policies and procedures are met and reinforces consistency in the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Working with Development team or other related internal team to ensure that all supporting document (soft copy, printed, or original file) related to project are kept properly.
  • The Financial Accountant reports to the Deputy Director of Finance & Operations and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

  • Works toward meeting the strategic priorities of the program by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans and completing day-to-day tasks.
  • Coordinates with Membership Team and projects implementation team under Development Department.
  • Ensures programmatic commitments, YKAN policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
  • Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field. 
  • May participate in complex negotiations.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination in finance area.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience with spreadsheet program, general ledger report and financial management tools.
  • Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Non-profit accounting combine with experience in revenue accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in manipulating, analyzing and interpreting data.  Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of current trends in specific field.
  • May require fluency in a foreign language to support global operations.
