The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Training Specialist–Resource Development coordinates the development and delivery of technical and operational training content and materials related to the WWP Resource Development (RD) department, communicates changes, and ensures compliance with RD policies, procedures, operations, and technology.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinate with subject-matter experts and deliver individual and group instruction and training to Resource Development teammates covering a range of Resource Development policies, procedures, and operational and technical areas, to ensure teammate’s professional skills development.
  • Identify and utilize established vendor training programs to meet instructional objectives.
  • Create training outlines and develop training content specifically directed to Resource Development (RD) teammates to communicate changes in and ensure compliance with RD policies, procedures, and technical and operational aspects of the WWP RD department.
  • Identify appropriate instructional methods, e.g. lectures, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, individual or group training.
  • Select training aids from vendors as appropriate to ensure effectiveness of the instructional method, e.g., training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and similar resources.
  • Develop training materials, e.g., training aids, training handbooks, and presentation materials, e.g., PowerPoint, based on teammates’ needs analyses and effectiveness of the instructional method.
  • Coordinate and perform administrative functions supporting training delivery and documentation. Collect survey data on training effectiveness, metrics, and evaluate training, and recommend and implement improvements.
  • Deliver multi-systems training to volunteers and teammates for program events.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of education, applicable military experience, training, and certification may be considered in lieu of degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated understanding of donor care technology and operational requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Good working understanding of the principles of instructional design. Good working knowledge of adult learning theory, techniques, principles, and methods to develop effective training plans and materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated group presentation and facilitation skills. Confident communicator with demonstrated ability to present information effectively to audiences, e.g., small groups and individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels and of diverse backgrounds.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, assignments, and priorities, completing them within deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency and technical skills using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.
  • High energy level. Self- starter; willing to take initiative.

  • Three years of experience delivering or facilitating training to adult learners.
  • Two years of experience developing training for adult learners.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time including overnight travel.

Preferences

  • Three years of experience in adult education, and designing and developing e-learning interactive training.
  • Two years of experience working in a non-profit organization working in a donor care environment.
  • One year of experience working with Salesforce.
