The Regional Healthy Living Director – Clay County is responsible for the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of health and wellness programs, ensuring that all operations are in line with the strategic plan for the YMCA of Florida's First Coast, Inc. and promote the YMCA mission. Provides direct supervision of health and wellness staff and programs at both the Barco Newton YMCA and Dye Clay YMCA, including but not limited to group exercise, personal training, adaptive wellness, healthy living programs and the wellness center. The Regional Director of Healthy Living – Clay County will inspire and lead a high functioning health and wellness staff team in Clay County, who will deliver excellence to all members and community.
- Lead the Clay branches and champion the First Coast Y's Healthy Living initiatives.
- Supervise Barco Newton and Dye Clay healthy living programs, (examples can include group exercise, individual and small group personal training, chronic disease prevention, member wellness challenges, and the overall operation of both wellness centers), development of group health and wellness programs, onboarding members, and member engagement.
- Participate in association-wide functions to include, but not limited to Florida’s First Coast YMCA trainings, Healthy Living Director meetings, Engagement Academies, and association special events.
- Track reports for department targets, including revenue, forecasting, Daxko Engage, Fast Forward Fitness onboarding and member retention.
- Work with the Barco Newton and Dye Clay Member Experience Directors to develop, monitor and control the department budget.
- Recruit, hire, and train wellness staff to model a relationship-building and member-focused staff team, who are fully trained and educated to engage and support members, through our association programs and/or solutions (Examples include but are not limited to Daxko Engage and ActivTrax).
- Conduct ongoing assessment of staff functions to determine required core competencies and skills; design and implement trainings as needed. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals.
- Serve as an effective branch team contributor; branch Cause Driven Leader on Duty shifts, as assigned, provide support to all branch departments, affiliated fundraising efforts and attend biweekly branch meetings.
- Provide strategic leadership on association Growth and Impact teams (if selected), and task force committees, as needed.
- Supervise the Regional Group Exercise Coordinator – Clay County.
- Provide branch department leaders with the overall Healthy Living vision/direction and all wellness department happenings, and program changes.
- Ensure proper & timely billing to program participants with non-payment, incorrect payment or forward balances.
- Supervise the Barco Newton and Dye Clay Wellness Centers: ensuring member engagement, equipment function, safety protocols, scheduling maintenance and repairs, and monitor daily operations to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
- Ensure that staff carry proper/current certifications and maintains accurate documentation according to YMCA of Florida’s First Coast guidelines.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in health and wellness management, which include program development, member retention, staff development and fiscal management.
- Minimum 2-5 years in supervisory experience, including full-time and part-time employees. Has a proven track record displaying an ability to motivate, educate, develop, and inspire staff.
- Holds certification in YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles, Strength Training; or related certifications through a reputable industry source (ACE, ASCM, AFAA, etc.)
- Able to complete YMCA specific trainings within 3 months of the position.
- Ability to present a positive image for staff, participants, colleagues, supervisors and the community.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented.
- Knowledge of research methods and a high degree of computer efficiency in Microsoft suite products.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Salary: $40,600.00
