The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Project and Implementation Specialist Senior leads the resource development teams in implementing multiple donor care projects and initiatives. The Project and Implementation Specialist Senior coordinates project teams’ initiatives and activities, guides the teams to develop solutions to complex problems, troubleshoots emerging issues, and maintains project documentation.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead discussions and meetings with stakeholders to gather information, identify root causes, develop problem statements, recommend solutions, and identify timelines and necessary resources to solve problems.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy (and visualize the big picture of systems ecosystem) of various projects to refine and improve project initiatives, managing and implementing multiple related projects simultaneously.
  • Track, manage, and formulate reports, and resolve project issues as they arise throughout the project life cycle.
  • Schedule and lead project kick-off meetings, maintain meeting minutes, and provide status reports to stakeholders.
  • Instill transparency and effective communication among departments, resource development teams, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with various teams to prepare and maintain project documentation including project charters, project plans, RFP’s, process maps, cost analyses, and business requirements.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing status updates on project progress, identify risks, scope change management, and provide recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Estimate costs and identify resources to achieve project goals for resource development teams and vendors.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
  • Determine project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Provide post-implementation project support as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and/or experience may be substituted for degree requirement
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to think critically, and apply independent thought to multiple, complex issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, communicating effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Work independently with little or no supervision
  • Creative team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project
  • Four years’ work experience in large non-profit environment

Preferences

  • Three years’ experience in donor services, donor systems, or fundraising support
  • Two years’ experience managing projects or project planning

Certifications & Licensure

  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or pursuing PMP credential
